H.C. Ørsted
The world-famous scientist behind the discovery of electromagnetism, H.C. Ørsted, grew up in Rudkøbing near Gaasetorvet. Here, you can visit his statue and explore an exhibition dedicated to his life and work. Learn about his interests and even recreate some of his most famous experiments.
Beyond science, Ørsted was passionate about literature – he wrote poetry, reviewed books, and coined around 2,000 Danish words.
