Copenhagen Zoo

In 1859, a little piece of the world opened at the top of Frederiksberg Bakke: Copenhagen Zoo. Ever since, the Zoo has given both Danes and visitors from around the world insight into animals, nature, and the work to protect them.

Step inside and experience the iconic giant panda, Europe’s only breeding population of Tasmanian devils, Africa’s giants, and the impressive polar bears in the Arctic Ring. Along the way, take a break and enjoy a bite to eat at one of the Zoo’s many restaurants and food stalls. Settle in at Bistro Ailu with a view of a bamboo-eating panda, enjoy classic Danish dishes at Kjærbøllings Hus, or explore flavours from near and far.

Copenhagen Zoo is ready for you to explore and discover everything the world has to offer 365 days a year. With only a 10-minute distance by public transportation from the city center, it is easy to get there.

And one more thing: don’t miss our spectacular Leopard Trail. At 160 metres, it’s the longest of its kind in Europe. Look up! A leopard might just pass right above your head.
