The Dadaist and poet Sven Dalsgaard
A special section is dedicated to the visual artist, Dadaist and poet Sven Dalsgaard.
Sven Dalsgaard (1914–1999) was a Danish artist with roots in Randers and a prominent figure in Danish modernism. He worked experimentally across painting, printmaking, collage and sculpture and was known for his curious and exploratory approach to form and space.

Family-friendly art museum
The atmosphere at Randers Art Museum is family-friendly. There is space here for both lively discussion and quiet contemplation. You’ll find plenty of activities and offerings that invite children and adults alike to explore the art. Particularly popular with the youngest visitors is the glass installation Cosmic Space by the Faroese artist Tróndur Patursson.
Randers Art Museum is located in the centre of Randers in the city’s cultural centre, designed by the Danish architect Flemming Lassen. The building, with its raw concrete façades, is a major architectural work within the modernist brutalist style. The museum shares the building with Museum Østjylland and Randers Library and is a short distance from the beautiful medieval town centre with its restaurants, cafés and a wide selection of shops. At the museum, you can pick up a lovely leaflet featuring sculptures in the city’s public spaces. There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy a day out in Randers.
