The history of Lundsgaard Manor stretches all the way back to 1484. The elegant white main building in Rococo style was built by Jens Luel in 1765, and the farm buildings were designed by architect August Klein – the man behind both the beautiful barn and the grand stables. This was where author and feminist Agnes Henningsen spent her childhood, as her father was the estate's manager.
Life and Culture All Year Round
Today, Lundsgaard is alive with activity. In addition to its traditional operations in agriculture and forestry, the estate offers a vibrant cultural scene, hosting concerts, festivals, conferences, and local events that bring together residents and visitors alike. In the cultural house and café, people gather for good food, great music, and a warm atmosphere – all set in the heart of nature.
A Seaside Hotel with Soul and Style
On the estate grounds, you’ll also find the carefully renovated Lundsgaard Manor Seaside Hotel. Here, you’ll experience a rare combination of tranquility, nature, and classic manor-house charm. The bright rooms are furnished with original pieces and attention to detail, and from the garden you can sense the scent of the forest and hear the waves of the Great Belt. A stay here is a true pause for both body and mind – and an ideal stop on your cycling route between Kerteminde and Nyborg.
