The small Udby Church on Djursland is a Romanesque brick church. The church is whitewashed and has a red tiled roof. The chalice dates back to 1677, when it was donated to the church by Berte Skeel, then owner of Holbækgård, which she inherited from her father, Christen Skeel. Berte Skeel donated the chalice to the church six months after her husband's death as a sign that she would not remarry.
The chalice is now registered at the National Museum as a danefæ.
